Experts about Russian Week of High Technologies 2018
The Russian Week of High Technologies runs at Expocentre Fairgrounds on April, 24-27. This high profile exhibition and congress project carried out by Expocentre is supported by the Russian Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Federal Communications Agency, and the GLONASS Union and runs under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The program of the Week, that is held for the 3rd time already, includes important industry events such as the 30th anniversary edition of the Sviaz International Exhibition for Information and Communications Technology, the 10th edition of the Navitech International Exhibition for Satellite Navigation Systems, the 12th edition of the International Navigation Forum, the 4th edition of the Big Media Communications Forum, and the Forum on Russian Software: Effective Solutions.
Leading experts and co-organizers speak about importance of the Week and expectations of the professional community.
Vladimir Kononov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Russian Week of High Technologies 2018, Deputy of the Russian State Duma,
“In the recent message to the Federal Assembly, the President of Russia devoted almost two thirds of his speech to the latest technologies and said that Russia had no future without them. The Russian Week of High Technologies is a very important element in the development of these breakthrough technologies for our country. This year the Week celebrates two anniversaries: Sviaz is 30 and Navitech is 10. I sincerely wish both exhibitions further growth because the development of the high tech industry is impossible without telecom and navigation technologies.”
Alexander Gurko, President of the GLONASS Union,
“We organize the satellite navigation forum and the Navitech exhibition within the Russian Week of High Technologies. Over ten years we have collaborated with Expocentre and we are glad of such collaboration. This year we expect more participating companies. There will be interesting round tables, many international companies and talks. We hope that the synergy of exhibitions and forums will be even greater.
“At the Navitech exhibition, which is held for the 10th time, we will be able to showcase new technologies and find new partners. Dozens of companies have already taken part in our program which is annually updated. This year we expect a lot of new interesting exhibition stands. We hold round tables on related topics such as the Internet-of-Things. Interesting hackathons on startups will be held for the first time. We involve top Russian corporations which start working within digital economy.
“We like the concept of the Russian Week of High Technologies very much. It completely satisfies today’s demands and demands of the future. We expect greater intermixing of the formats and topics offered.”
Ilya Massukh, Director of the Competence Center of Import Substitution in the ICT Sector,
“It is right that Expocentre has announced the Week of High Technologies rather than chosen a separate sector of these technologies as it was earlier: software, or communications, or IT. Now everything is united. After all, customers, consumers and ordinary citizens do not divide high technologies into parts. Nobody distinguishes either hardware or communication platform.
“Our part within the Week is Russian Software: Effective Solutions. Software is a generic term. It includes both applied software and embedded software for machines and special devices up to the Internet-of-Things which becomes increasingly attractive not only at home but also in manufacturing. Russia has a considerable potential for the development of digital platforms and software solutions. The aim of the Russian Software: Effective Solutions Forum is to assist Russian developers to adapt their solutions to the current situation and customers’ specific requirements in the right way. None of global manufacturers has such an approach. Thanks to this adaptation, Russian-made software products become more effective. The Internet business should get out of virtual world and enter reality. It is trade shows that provide online companies with live communication when they can test their solutions during meaningful interaction with customers and competitors. Thank you to Expocentre for bringing together ‘netizens’ under one roof.”
Sergey Plugotarenko, Director of the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC),
“We used to cooperate with the Sviaz exhibition and now we work with a large united brand – the Russian Week of High Technologies. We do our best to show the strength of this brand to online companies. We consider this platform as the only single-source where the participants can have a constructive intersectoral dialogue. It is a meeting place for not only operators and telecom companies, but also for hardware manufacturers. The Big Media Communications Forum brings together media holdings and, of course, representatives of online business. One should make use of such intersectoral dialogue more and more. We’ve introduced a number of new topics connected with the Internet which probably were not enough in previous years. The Forum participants are interested in the Sviaz exhibition which enables online companies to show their products and services and get new customers.
The Russian Week of High Technologies creates a unique format for visitors. They can listen to speakers and network with them, go through the trade show and see what is produced by Russian and global high tech companies, i.e., operators, telecom sector and related sectors. I am sure the Sviaz exhibitors will be interested to drop in on the Big Media Communications Forum. Over three days they can absorb lots of information that will be useful for them in their job, business, and relations with other industries.
