Digital Transformation is in focus of Russian Week of High Technologies
Expocentre Fairgrounds has opened its doors to Russian Week of High Technologies 2019. It is held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Federal Communications Agency (Rossvyaz), the Russian State Duma Committee on Education and Science, the GLONASS Union, and under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This year the Week includes the Sviaz 2019 International Exhibition for Information and Communications Technology, the Navitech 2019 International Exhibition for Navigation Systems, Technologies and Services, the 13th edition of the International Navigation Forum, the Forum on Russian Software: Effective Solutions, the Conference on Digital Transformation of Telecom Industry: Strategy 2024, and other important events.
At the opening ceremony, Vladimir Kononov, who is a member of the Russian State Duma Committee on Education and Science and a chairman of the Organising Committee of the Russian Week of High Technologies, read a welcome address of Russian Vice Prime Minister Maxim Akimov.
According to the vice prime minister, the Week's events will cover the most relevant issues of this country's development such as high-tech solutions for the national economy, development of Artificial Intelligence, mobile and satellite communications for optimization of public administration and provision of cyber security.
Russian Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Oleg Ivanov talked about the importance of the Week for the Digital Economy national project.
In his welcome speech, Director General of Expocentre Sergey Bednov pointed out that the main event of Russian Week of High Technologies 2019 is the Sviaz International Exhibition. Sviaz is a well-established event which has been growing year after year. This year the show occupies 7,400 net sq m to welcome 398 companies from 15 countries. Russia is represented by 159 exhibitors. Navitech 2019 showcases the latest developments in the navigation industry.
"Russian Week of High Technologies includes not only trade shows but also a lot of associated events. It is a networking platform for businessmen, authorities and different administrative bodies," said Mr. Bednov.
Right after the opening ceremony, there was a special ceremony of cancellation of a postal card devoted to Sviaz 2019 and a postal envelope with the original stamp issued by the Federal Communications Agency and Marka AO to mark the 60th anniversary of Expocentre.
