The Forum on Russian Software: Efficient Solutions discussed the national cyber security
The Forum on Russian Software: Efficient Solutions was within Russian Week of High Technologies 2019 at Expocentre Fairgrounds. It was organised by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media, the Competence Center of Import Substitution in the ICT Sector, Russian Software Products Association "Russian Software", and Expocentre AO.
Main topics for discussions at the Forum were issues of application of the most efficient domestic solutions to ensure national information security in all spheres of life.
"The topic of the national cyber security is extremely relevant," noted Vladimir Kononov, moderator of the Forum plenary session - member of the Russian State Duma Committee on Education and Science, and Chairman of the Organising Committee of Russian Week of High Technologies. "With the rapid development of information technologies, Russia should in the short run take a leading position in the development of its own solutions to ensure the security and comfortable life for people."
"One of the sections of the Digital Economy national programme is devoted to issues of information security, support for developers of Russian software products and promotion of transition to the preferential use of domestic software products and telecommunication equipment," said Russian Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media Alexey Sokolov.
He said that over 5,000 software products were included in the Russian software registry. The share of domestic software products in the government procurements by the authorities and constituent entities of the Russian Federation grew from 20% in 2015 to the current 65%. It is expected that by 2024 this figure will reach 90%. In the Russian market, preferences are also given to software developers from the Eurasian Economic Community countries.
Cybersecurity is a trend of digital development. According to expert data, losses in the global financial market from cyber attacks in 2019 will amount to $ 2.5 billion. A significant number of cyber attacks in Russia are aimed at the Sberbank system. Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank PJSC Stanislav Kuznetsov told about the ecosystem of the company cybersecurity, the protection level of which reached 98% today.
Alexey Kornya, President of MTS, presented projects to ensure the integrated security of MTS clients. He noted that accents are increasingly shifting to the cybersecurity of end users and their devices.
"Among Russian cities, Moscow remains an undisputed leader in the application of digital technologies. Every two seconds, attempts are made to penetrate the city information networks," said Alexander Gorbatko, Deputy Head of the Information Technologies Department of the City of Moscow. He shared his experience in addressing information security issues in a megacity.
A great deal of interest was shown by representatives of companies from different business areas and ICT market players to the thematic section on cybersecurity and digital sovereignty held as part of the Forum on Russian Software: Efficient Solutions by Ilya Massukh, Director of the the Competence Center of Import Substitution in the ICT Sector.
Experience of work of one of the leading international companies on prevention and investigation of cybercrimes and fraud using high technologies, Group-IB, was shared by its Director for contacts with government agencies Dmitry Buyanov. General Director of ZECURION Alexey Raevsky told about new types of threats associated with big data that make ordinary citizens vulnerable to leaks of personal information about them. Other prominent experts presented new cyber security solutions in the course of the section work.
Another thematic section of the Forum on the general theme "Virtual Technologies in E-Commerce: Cyber Security" was devoted to protection of personal data in the context of using virtual technologies in e-commerce, state regulation of e-commerce using virtual technologies, international standards in this area.
