Russian Week of High Technologies – a key event of the Year of Science and Technology

Russian Week of High Technologies 2021 has been launched at Expocentre Fairgrounds. This is a large-scale annual exhibition and congress project that brings together several leading exhibitions, forums and conferences in the field of information technologies, telecommunications, navigation and telematics.

The Week has become an inter-sectoral platform for the development of the Russian digital economy infrastructure. The event is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian State Duma Committee for Education and Science, Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media, under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Vladimir Kononov, Chairman of the Organising Committee of Russian Week of High Technologies, Member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, in his welcoming speech, said that Russian Week of High Technologies was part of the inter-industry platform NTI Expo (Research-Technology-Innovation Expo). The NTI Expo platform brings together international and Russian congress and exhibition events with state participation and is designed to promote the implementation of scientific achievements in industrial production. An important task of the project is to create favourable conditions and support young scientists, postgraduates and students.

The Week was welcomed at the opening ceremony by Maxim Parshin, Russian Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, Vasily Shpak, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Pyotr Kucherenko, Russian Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, Andrey Goncharov, Head of the Main Department for Research and Technological Support of Advanced Technologies (Innovation Research) of the Russian Ministry of Defence, Dmitry Kurochkin, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and  Alexey Samarin, Head of the Moscow Information Technology Department.

Sergey Selivanov, First Deputy Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, noted that the significance and high status of the Week were confirmed by its inclusion in the Plan of Main Events of the Year of Science and Technology held in the Russian Federation in 2021. In this regard, special attention in the exhibition and conference programme is paid to promoting and demonstrating the latest scientific and technological developments and innovative technologies.

This year, Russian Week of High Technologies unites the Sviaz 2021 International Exhibition for Information and Communications Technology, Sviaz 2021 Forum: Digital Future of Telecom Industry, Russian Software Forum: Effective Solutions for Digital Economy, the Navitech 2021 Salon, International Navigation Forum, CSTB.Telecom&Media Exhibition and Forum, and other industry events.

The exhibition product sectors cover telecommunications equipment, network infrastructure, data networks, satellite and mobile communications, communication cables, IT services, Internet of things, Russian software, IP technologies and others.

The main event of Russian Week of High Technologies 2021 is the Sviaz 2021 international exhibition. It brings together 180 companies from eight countries - Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Germany, Russia, Spain, the UK and the USA.

Russian exhibitors are widely represented, including through regional expositions. With the help of regional business support centres, group stands were organised at the exhibition from the Belgorod, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, and Yaroslavl regions and the Khabarovsk region. 

For the first time, Sberbank participates in the Sviaz 2021 conference programme as a partner bank. The Russian Ministry of Defence is exhibiting projects from the ERA Military Innovation Technopolis.
