Russian Software Forum brings together leading professionals
Russian Software Forum: Effective Solutions, held within Russian Week of High Technologies 2021 at Expocentre Fairgrounds, aroused great interest from professional IT community.
The forum was attended by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Competence Center of Import Substitution in the ICT Sector, Russian Software Products Association “Russian Software” and other experts.
The forum started with a Plenary Session: Information Technologies: from Digital Sovereignty to Building Ecosystems, organised by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, the Russian State Duma Committee on Education and Science, the Expert Council on Scientific and Technological Development and Intellectual Property of the Russian State Duma Committee on Education and Science, EXPOCENTRE AO
Vladimir Kononov, the session moderator, Member of the State Duma, Chairman of the NTI Expo (Research-Technology-Innovations Expo) Organising Committee, in his opening speech reminded that Russian Software: Effective Solutions was an important component of the NTI Expo project designed to help addressing priority tasks in the transformation of science and technology, education, digital economy, industry, transport infrastructure and energy. He also stated that "over the past year, the world has changed dramatically and digital technologies have become fully transversal to all areas of the economy.
Speaking about the development of the Russian software, Ilya Massukh, Director of the Competence Center of Import Substitution in the ICT Sector, said that thanks to the measures adopted by the government last year to support the IT industry, the number of Russian software products in the register has increased several times, with more than 10,000 already registered.
According to Natalia Kasperskaya, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Software Products Association “Russian Software”, the second package of measures to support the industry is now being developed. "According to the results of the year, even according to our Association, we see a 15% increase in turnover on average, which correlates with the data of the Ministry of Communications, which estimated the IT industry growth at 13%".
Andrey Goncharov, Head of the Main Department for Research and Technological Support of Advanced Technologies (Innovation Research) of the Russian Ministry of Defence, gave a presentation on the ERA Military Innovation Technopolis projects in the field of artificial intelligence, information security and IT technology.
Topics for discussion also included: a comprehensive strategy for the development of the IT industry in Russia, import substitution regulation, digital sovereignty and a number of others.
The participants of the Russian Software Forum: Effective Solutions paid special attention to the compatibility and synchronisation of the Russian software and equipment. The thematic session "Russian Software and Hardware: on the Road to the Country's Technological Independence", which followed the plenary session, was devoted to this important area of industry development. The speakers presented to their colleagues ready stacks of the Russian software and hardware products and talked about the impact of software and hardware on the technological independence of the country.
Within the forum, a session on Russian IT Solutions: the Foundation of the Country's Digital Sovereignty was organised by the Russian Ministry of Defence.
