Russian Week of High Technologies 2022 opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds

The Russian Week of High Technologies 2022 (RWHT), a meeting place for professionals to discuss the development of the digital economy infrastructure in the new realities, opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds. The Week is held as part of the cross-industry platform NTI Expo (Research-Technology-Innovations Expo), which brings together large-scale events with state participation focused on the implementation of national projects and the fulfilment of priority tasks for the digitalisation of the economy.

The Week includes the 34th edition of the International Exhibition for Information and Communications Technology - Sviaz 2022, the Navitech 2022 Showcase of Navigation Systems, Technologies and Services, the 15th International Navigation Forum, the Sviaz 2022 Forum, the Russian Software Forum: Effective Solutions, the Strategic Session on the Digital Sovereignty – Priorities, Human Resources, Laws.

At the official opening ceremony of Russian Week of High Technology 2022 the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, Chairman of the NTI EXPO Organising Committee Vladimir Kononov reminded that RWHT was included in the Plan of the Main Events of the Year of Science and Technology 2021. According to Vladimir Kononov, it is symbolic that on the eve of the Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a Decree on the Decade of Science and Technology. For the whole decade the special attention of the state and business will be given to our industry.

The Sviaz exhibition and RWHT are attracting special attention today, said Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. "In those conditions, when we see the breakdown of chains, the lack of components, the violation of previous commitments by our former partners, it is extremely important to look at what we have in our country and what those partners who have stayed with us have," stressed Sergey Katyrin.

Fyodor Kroshin, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, read out a welcome message from Dmitry Chernyshenko stressing that the sanctions pressure had become a window of opportunity for the development of the Russian network and communications infrastructure.

Maxim Parshin, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, spoke about the importance and relevance of RWHT for the entire industry. He also noted that in today's challenging situation, the government attached key strategic importance to the IT industry and took unprecedented decisions to support it.

Andrey Omelchuk, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, expressed confidence that RNVT will take its rightful place in the annual plan of events of the decade of science and technology in our country.

Alexey Matushansky, Director of the Department of Strategic Development and Corporate Policy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, said that the implementation of digital solutions and automation solutions in industry was a key factor in the competitiveness of Russian products.

Alexander Gorbatko, Deputy Head of the IT Department of Moscow, spoke about the large number of digital services being implemented in the capital and the fact that partners for these services were often found at RWHT.

Alexander Osadchuk, Head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Russian Ministry of Defence, noted that RWHT had historically been a leading business platform where professionals could make decisions and see new trends in technology development.

Sergey Selivanov, First Deputy Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, welcomed the RWHT participants and reminded that the Sviaz exhibition had been held since 1975. In modern conditions, he said, the exhibition is one of the most effective tools for finding new business partners, for developing industrial cooperation, international and regional cooperation, as well as for establishing new supply chains in the context of a number of manufacturers leaving the Russian market.

Russian Week of High Technologies runs until April 29.
