Digital priority in the focus of experts’ attention at Russian Week of High Technologies 2022
The Russian State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, the Expert Council on Scientific and Technological Development and Intellectual Property of the Russian State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, and EXPOCENTRE AO organised the Strategic Session on the Digital Sovereignty – Priorities, Human Resources, Laws within Russian Week of High Technologies 2022 (RWHT).
Welcoming the participants of the strategic session, Sergey Selivanov, First Deputy Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, expressed his gratitude to the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education for their support of the Russian Week of High Technologies, which helped this large-scale exhibition and congress project acquire the current high status and level.
According to him, under the current conditions of constraints the mission of the Week takes on particular significance. One of the strongest advantages of RWHT has always been the quality and content of the conference programme that accompanies one of the oldest exhibitions - Sviaz. On its margins, the business and scientific community discuss with representatives of the authorities the most urgent issues of implementing the import substitution process, expanding Russia's technological security, and modernising the material and technical base of production facilities.
Despite the limitations, the economic situation and the capabilities of our companies, the number of Russian participants in the exhibitions that make up Russian Week of High Technologies has not decreased, Sergey Selivanov noted. In his opinion, this proves that exhibitions are one of the most effective tools not only for promoting goods and services, but also for restoring the economic health of individual enterprises, entities and countries.
The session co-moderator Vladimir Kononov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, moving on to the discussion of the declared topic, noted that the Russian Ministry of Higher Education and Science has been systematically increasing the pace and quality of IT training in recent years. "In 2022 an unprecedented growth of systemic measures aimed at developing our country's digital sovereignty can be recorded,” he said.
How to create conditions for training scientific and technical personnel in the Russian Federation in the new realities and their self-realization in our country, how strict should be the legislative regulation of scientific and technical sphere in the new conditions, what should be the transformation of the educational environment for IT professionals?
