Role of research and universities in telecom industry development
The conference programme of Russian Week of High Technologies 20926 hosted the Strategic Session on Research and Universities as Drivers of Development of the Telecom Industry.
The event was moderated by Vladimir Kononov, Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education.
The participants made presentations on the topics of the role of research in the transformation of the Russian telecom industry, universities and colleges as centres of generation of research, measures of state support for promising projects, development and implementation of domestic technologies at industry enterprises, and personnel training for high-tech industries.
Igor Sokolov, Director of the Federal Research Center for Informatics and Management of the Russian Academy of Sciences, emphasized that academic and university science attaches great importance to solving the problems of building an advanced telecom infrastructure in Russia in order to meet the needs of society and industry in communications and data processing.
The session was attended by Evgeny Ivashkevich, Rector of Central University, Oleg Kolesnikov, Dean of the Faculty of Network and Communication Systems at MTUCI, Ekaterina Chaban, Head of Scientific and Technical Cooperation at Rosatom State Corporation, Ivan Komarov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at Moscow Power Engineering Institute, heads of universities, representatives of federal ministries, scientific institutions, industry businesses, and relevant associations.
