Sviaz-Expocomm’2012: Results and Prospects of the Telecommunications Industry
May 14, Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted the official opening ceremony of the Infocommunications Days’2012, the key event of which is the 24th International Exhibition for Telecommunications, Control Systems, IT and Communication Services Sviaz-Expocomm’2012. The exhibition is organized by Expocentre with assistance from Euroexpo Company (Russia), with the official support from the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communication of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, and the Moscow City Government.
Sergey Bednov, General Director of Expocentre, thanked in his welcoming address the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communication of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation for the official support of the Sviaz-Expocomm’2012exhibition, as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Moscow City Government for the auspices of the exhibition.
Igor Shchegolev, Acting Minister of Telecommunications and Mass Communications of Russian Federation, stressed that summing up the work of the Ministry in the last year and discuss the plans for the future has become a tradition of the exhibition. The exhibition is the result of the joint activity of “the most dynamic industry”, “forefront of the new economy”. The opening exhibition represent us something new –new solutions, new technological and organizational approaches. The exhibition incorporates many roundtable discussions, master classes and other events with participation of leading experts, noted Mr. Shchegolev. He wished the Sviaz-Expocomm’2012 exhibition to give an impetus for the new achievements that will be represented at the next exhibition.
Vladimir Strashko, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, welcomed the organizers, participants and visitors of the exhibition on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. He emphasized that the CCI is patronizing the exhibition to attract business sphere in the development of the telecommunications industry, without which it is impossible to reconstruct the entire Russian economy.
The Sviaz-Expocomm exhibition has become a kind of a barometer of the development of high technologies in Russia. This year 614 companies from 28 countries put on display their latest achievements and developments in the field of communications. Germany, Canada, China, Taiwan, France represented joint expositions. More than 300 Russian companies and enterprises show their novelties.
The Sviaz-Expocomm’2012 exhibition is an international event with traditionally high share of foreign participation. Haulin Zhao, Deputy Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union, noted at the official opening ceremony that the exhibition is an excellent opportunity to gather representatives of the international telecommunications industry and to exchange the ideas and experience.
Ziga Turk, Minister for Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Slovenia, stressed that the Sviaz-Expocomm’2012 exhibition is an important international industry event and promotes the development of the technologies, creates the platform for the fruitful dialogue, including the state level, helps to exchange the experience and views, as well as to search for the new partners.
The Infocommunications Days’ events and the 24th Sviaz-Expocomm’2012 International Exhibition are open May 14 – 17 in Pavilions Nos. 1, 2, 8 and in the open air sites of Expocentre Fairgrounds.
