Happy Birthday to World Wide Web!

06 / 08 / 2015

August 6 is the day we celebrate the birthday of the global Internet. On this day in 1991 the Internet founder Tim Berners-Lee, who believed that hypertext can be a basis for data exchange networks, launched the first web site Info.cern.ch and published the description of a new World Wide Web technology and principles for the installation and operation of web servers and web browsers.

Later the site became the world's first online catalog as it contained a list of links to other sites.

Now the world's first web page is available for viewing to all interested in the museum of the Web founded by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

24 years later the most advanced technology in the field of the Internet and digital communications are demonstrated at many sectoral and thematic events. The Sviaz International Exhibition organized by Expocentre is among these key global platforms. The professional community believes that Sviaz has become the main project of the Russian telecommunications industry. It brings together all players of the modern market of information and communication fields, ranging from manufacturers of all types of telecommunication equipment, control systems and communication services to the latest developments in the field of IT technologies and the most modern web solutions and global Internet technology.
