The first event of the Sviaz_RIW Biennale, RIW 2015, has opened

The Week of the Russian Internet / Russian Interactive Week – RIW 2015 has opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds.

RIW 2015 will bring together the Internet 2015 exhibition, Softool, and the Media Communications Forum, plus a lot of entertainment and special events at RIW-Night.

The opening ceremony started with a welcoming speech from Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Nikolay Nikiforov. Other participants were Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications Leonid Levin, Alexander Zharov (Roskomnadzor), Mikhail Tolkachev (Expocentre), German Klimenko (IRI), Kirill Varlamov (FRНA), Juliana Slaschova (STS Media), Alexander Provotorov (Tele2), Dmitry Chernyshenko (Gazprom Media), Aleksey Basov (Rostelecom), Ruslan Ibragimov (MTS), Danny Perekalsky (Ozon.ru), Ilya Massukh (Information Democracy Foundation), and others.

Welcoming the participants and guests of RIW 2015, Deputy General Director of Expocentre Mikhail Tolkachev and Director of RAEC Sergey Plugotarenko announced that two organizations were joining efforts in creating the Sviaz_RIW Biennale, consisting of autumn RIW and spring Sviaz to cover all aspects of the communications and telecommunications infrastructure and technology.

The next Biennale event, Sviaz 2016, will be held on May 10-13, 2016.
