21 / 05 / 2007

Within May 14-18, the show grounds of Expocentre Fairgrounds were engaged to support “Sviaz-Expocomm-2007” – the 19th international exhibition of telecommunications, computers and office equipment, the affair being organized by Russia’s “Expocentre Fairgrounds” and US’ “E. J. Krause & Associates Inc.”. Notably, the Exhibition has been enjoying patronage from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and Moscow City Government, with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers) providing relevant technical assistance.

To remind, the international exhibition-forum “Sviaz-Expocomm” has come to be the largest EEC-based show of achievements in the area of telecommunications, data processing and computer technologies. Attesting to the Exhibition’s superior status are the UFI (Global Association of Exhibition Industry) and RUEF (Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs) awards.

Importantly, the Exhibition has been serving to create excellent conditions for: promotion of mutually beneficial collaborative relations involving domestic and foreign manufacturers operating in the area of telecommunications and services; exchange of knowledge on leading-edge developments and innovative projects; demonstration of lucrative investment features held by Russia’s communications industry.

To add, “Sviaz-Expocomm” has invariably been rolling out numerous growth-capable state-of-the-art developments and a broad range of specialized IT-based communications solutions, products and services. Year in year out, the numbers of exhibit areas and display stands have been on the rise, with the dominating themes generally being updated to be in sync with the latest industry breakthroughs and advances.

This year the event, with its overall footprint reaching close to 18,000 square meters, was attended by more than 600 firms and enterprises from the following 33 world countries: Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Germany, Israel, India, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, South Korea, the People’s Republic of China, Latvia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, the United States of America, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Japan

What is more, “Sviaz-Expocomm” appears to be one of the larger telecommunications events worldwide in terms of size and relevance. Expocentr-based show pavilions have been carrying most advanced products and technologies from the world’s top-line communications equipment developers, manufacturers and suppliers. By way of example, visitors could view and examine fresh products and new concepts from such world majors as American Power Conversion, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, LG Electronics, Orion Communication Co. Ltd, Siemens, Tadiran, Thompson, Telecom Ltd, ZTE Corporation, just as many other high visibility companies.

National exhibit areas were carried by Germany, Spain, Italy, Canada, the People’s Republic of China, South Korea, the United States of America, Taiwan (People’s Republic of China), Finland and France.

With every passing year “Sviaz-Expocomm” has been attracting incrementally larger numbers of domestic exhibitors from Russian provinces that have started to demonstrate world-class products and technologies. This year local exhibitors represented more than 450 companies and organizations, some of the larger ones including: AMT Group, GAZKOM, state-run Riazansky Priborny Zavod, Gudwin-Evropa, Informatsionnaya Industriya company, Morion, Morsviazsputnik, Moscow-based Televizionny Institut research center, Moscow-based NII Radiosviazi, RNII KP (GLONASS Program lead organization), Omsk-based NII Priborostroyeniya, UZO-ELEKTRO, RELERO (Radiozavod Popova), just as a multitude of other successful operations.

While participating in the Forum, domestic exhibitors could demonstrate their capacities, get advised of the prevailing industry trends, find new partners for the more lucrative projects, attract prospective customers for competitive products, break into and win new market segments.

To underscore, for the first time “Sviaz-Expocomm” was broken down into thematic sections for experts and visitors to have no navigation problems. Importantly, the Exhibition sections had been designed to feature all meaningful dimensions pertaining to the development of communications infrastructure facilities, information technologies, business-management hardware/software applications and solutions. It would suffice to mention the following thematic sections: communications equipment and suites; wireless communications solutions; IP-telephony and multimedia services; information technologies; cables and aerials; communications operators; telephone sets and accessories.

The Exhibition introduced the GLONASS exhibit area primarily intended to cover one of the more advanced sat-com industry pursuits – new technologies and services designed to provide top-quality support for disparate navigation and communications tasks.

To add, “Sviaz-Expocomm-2007” ushered in the MatchMaking system developed and deployed to help participants and visitors to maximize their Exhibition-time efficiency through fixing their appointments with desired parties as necessary. Special area for meeting rooms was assigned to hold negotiations, with the preferred hours being scheduled to meet the demand. Clearly, this facility allowed to budget your precious hours to the best advantage.

Then, participants could have unlimited access to Business Center services designed to help businessmen engage in negotiations and close business deals. Also, the Exhibition arrangers had set up the Internet Café where exhibitors and visitors  could use the worldwide web for their assorted purposes.

What is more, nearly unlimited opportunities for business-to-business communication and networking were offered through the agency of a business-support program designed to feature a broad array of discussions, presentations, conferences and workshops.

The keynote functions, for one, included the conference “New Vistas for Russian Telecom”, the affair being put together to discuss the prospects for development of new-generation mobile and wireless communications networks here in Russia. The Conference had been arranged by E.J. Krause & Associates, Inc. working together with Horizon House Publications.

Clearly, the Exhibition’s support activities enabled participants and experts to address the more topical industry issues of the present day, swap experiences, share new ideas and chart fresh trajectories for cooperation.

The event attracted larger-than-ever numbers of visitors and prospective buyers of absolutely unique and top-of-the-line engineering products and technologies. Eventually, this would help bolster the Russian industry for communications and IT applications and solutions.
